Many believers in the body of Christ attribute all faulty prophecy as being false prophecy. Here are a few simple revelations to help you distinguish the roots of different faulty prophetic mishaps or evils, because there are different levels and sources in prophetic ministry.
- False Prophecy = A corrupt evil heart.
- Bad prophecy = A carnal fleshy heart
- Missed prophecy = a fallible heart.
False prophecy doesn’t mean an inaccurate prophecy or word of knowledge.
Many False prophets are accurate because they actually carry the gift, but their hearts have been corrupted or polluted. Their motives could be money, power etc.
Bad prophecy usually stems from an overzealous carnal heart.
Usually a person will have more zeal than faith and want to be seen or heard.
The motives are usually carnal flesh led and immature in nature.
Missed prophecies usually are led by the right motive, but as many are growing and learning sometimes what God is saying and what we are hearing intersects and can cause us to say what we hear in ourselves and not God.
Needless to say no of us are perfect and we are all fallible and growing.
1 Corinthians 13:9 says we know in part and prophecy in part. In most cases a missed prophecy isn’t totally missed , but just bits and pieces.
